ICEE HOT will be releasing a lot of music in 2013, and the latest batch comes courtesy of NYC’s Contakt. As one of the founders of ICEE HOT sister party TURRBOTAX®, Contakt has long been a part of our extended family, which is why we’re so excited to release “Nobody Else” and “Tessera 04,” two choice cuts that come backed with remixes by our own Ghosts on Tape and Detroit techno legend Robert Hood.

ICEE HOT returns to Austin on Friday March 15 for another SXSW official showcase! We couldn’t be happier to head back into the subterranean bass cavern that is Barcelona. This year’s line-up is once again packed to the gills with amazing talent featuring the finest in modern house and techno.

London-via-Belfast duo BICEP will be bringing its classic house vibes all the way to Texas for a set that’s sure to produce some serious rave rain. Delivering his own brand of rump-shaking deep rave rhythms, ICEE HOT’s own GHOSTS ON TAPE is sure to pull some tricks out of his bag, while SOUTH LONDON ORDNANCE will be on hand to give the sub-woofers a serious stress test with his heavily percussive UK techno sound. ICEE HOT co-founder SHAWN REYNALDO can and will drop some house- and techno-flavored treats to get your head buzzing. Montreal duo (and ICEE HOT signing) GROWN FOLK specializes in dense, floating melodies and crisp drum programming, but don’t get too comfy, as they also aren’t afraid to get rude. Toronto’s NAUTILUSS knows a thing or two about bass-weight mechanics, and can be counted on to administer some major heat that will astound your mind and work out your lower extremities. One half of Lazer Sword and ICEE man LOW LIMIT makes his SXSW return, and all will rejoice when they hear his robust techno and bass sounds. London’s DJ HAUS will be in the haus as well. The Unknown To The Unknown boss has the deepest of crates, and he’s not afraid to use them.

Harvey’s legendary sets are a journey across the musical map. His cult following takes him all over the world and makes him one of the most talked about DJ with the least describable sound. To understand Harvey is to be infront of his decks. He is unanimously regarded as a modern day music legend.
Headlining the ICEE HOT loft is none other than New York’s FaltyDL (a.k.a. Drew Lustman). The ever-prolific producer—who just released his excellent third album, ‘Hardcourage’—doesn’t focus on one specific genre, instead choosing to wear his widely varying influences on his sleeve while retaining an original sound that’s very much is own. There are shades of soulful Detroit and Chicago house, disjointed broken beats, the hefty bass-weight of classic UK garage, and forward-thinking experimentalism, all put together with a touch of NY sleaze. It’s this spirit of relentless creativity which has allowed him to record for a who’s who of well-respected labels, including Rush Hour, Swamp 81, Planet Mu, Hemlock, 50 Weapons, Ramp, and All City. Nearly two years have past since FaltyDL last performed at ICEE HOT, so we’re thrilled to welcome him back to San Francisco.
Also spinning is Brooklyn upstart Anthony Naples. Honestly, you’d be avised to get familiar with him now, as you’ll be hearing much more from the young producer in the near future. Last year, he seemingly appeared out of thin air with the “Mad Disrespect” EP, a 12″ that got DJs, journalists, labels, and many a dancefloor all hot and bothered. With a unique and edgy approach to house, as well as a mature touch that belies his tender age, Mr. Naples is a promising new artist who’ll we’ll be keeping our eye on. This will be his San Francisco debut, and we can’t think of a better place than ICEE HOT to welcome Anthony Naples to the West Coast.
